God is a holy God but he is also a God who is with us.
When Jesus came into the world, one of his names (prophesied many years before by the prophet Isaiah) was 'Immanuel" which means 'God with us.'
When you believe in Jesus and ask him to be in charge of your life, the Holy Spirit of God comes and lives on the inside of you in your spirit. The Bible tells us that the people of God (the church) are the 'temple of the Holy Spirit.'
In times past, God 'dwelt' on the earth in a temple. But now God lives on the inside of the believer. Instead of having to obey rules and do things to be made right with God or stay right with God, the Holy Spirit changes us from the inside-out. Much of religion tries to change you from the 'outside-in' telling you what to do, what to wear etc. But God is not like that. Instead, he helps us to be more like him - to be more like Jesus. We love others because God first loved us.
God is above what we can understand and beyond our thinking but he also is close to us. He cares about everything that you care about and wants to help you in every area of your life. God 'in us' - the Holy Spirit - is our counsellor, our guide, our help. God is not distant but through the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, we can now draw close to God and know that he wants to be close to you.
Jesus knows you by name, knows where you are, knows your every need, put you together in your mother's womb, has a plan and a destiny for your life and can heal you and make you whole.
